At 2-1/4 lbs., the Fram HPG1 is a little heavier than some filters, but it still offers advantages that the others don't. Once the filter is installed it will not need to be disconnected to change the element. The bowl design allows water to collect in the bottom to easily be removed with one bolt. The inexpensive paper elements will work in either direction of flow.
