The best clutch for you will be determined by your application and your budget. Of course the lighter clutch you can get away with, the easier the engine will accelerate. An 8.48 lb. 2 disc 7.25" clutch is tough enough to withstand almost any short track racing application. An 10.99 lb. 7.25" 3 disc will last longer, but is only really needed in extreme traction and power applications or road racing. The 7.24 lb. 5.5" 3 disc clutch will handle the same applications as the larger 2 disc but with less total weight and a smaller rotating diameter. We recommend using the 5.66 lb. 4.5" 3 disc clutch in applications with 500 h.p. or less. 4.5" clutches may not be the best choice for weekly racing.
